  • Stump grinding is the process of using specialized equipment to grind a tree stump down below ground level. This removes the visible stump without the need for full root removal, allowing the area to be leveled and restored.

  • Removing a stump improves curb appeal, reduces tripping hazards, prevents pest activity, and makes your yard easier to mow, landscape, or build on.

  • We typically grind stumps approximately 6 inches below ground level, which is suitable for grass, soil, or most landscaping needs. The customer has the final say on depth, whether you prefer the stump ground flush with the ground or deeper than 6 inches based on your plans for the area.

  • In most cases, full root removal is not necessary. Stump grinding removes the visible stump while roots naturally decompose underground over time. If any roots are sticking up we can discuss the possibility of grinding the roots as well.

  • We take care to minimize disturbance. Some wood chips and surface disruption are normal, but we focus on clean results and protecting surrounding lawn and landscaping.

  • Most jobs (1-2 stumps) are completed in under an hour. Having multiple stumps, difficulty accessing stumps, and larger stump sizes can all increase time.
